After shopping and lunch Ethan wanted to go to the water so we walked down and played on the beach. Ethan go to enjoy his favorite beach activity, rock throwing. I hope that we have even more of these sunny days in the coming weeks.

Sunny day in Edmonds...
This past Saturday we had extremely good weather. It was sunny and upper sixties so we decided to head to Edmonds to do some shopping. I had some wine I needed to pick up so I thought that it was a great excuse to go. We had a great time wandering around the downtown area, had lunch at Olive's Wine Bar, and went to the wine shop to get my favorite Pinot Noir.

Sunriver, Oregon - Mt. Bachelor Trip
As a present to my dad for his 70th birthday I took him on a four day road trip to Sunriver, Oregon to go skiing at Mt. Bachelor. We stayed in a fantastic condo that was located at the Sunriver Resort, specifically Wildflower #17. I did not know what to expect when we arrived at the condo but it was great. We had a great time skiing, going to the High Desert Museum, and hanging out in the town of Bend. I will definitely be coming back to stay at the Sunriver resort again in the future. I would suggest visiting in the Summer since it looked like they had a ton of stuff to do this time of year.
Here are some photo's of the condo we stayed at. It was four stories, had two bedrooms, two baths, two fireplaces, and two decks and overlooked the golf course.
Jeff and Ethan were happy for me to get back home. Both of them were sick the whole time I was gone so they were very happy to have me back.

The first of many school pictures...
Several weeks ago we got a notice that Ethan's daycare was going to have a picture day. It completely escaped our minds until we got an envelope in his cubby full of assorted pictures. Of course we had to purchase them after seeing the final results so if any of you grandparents reading this want one, just let us know. There are a couple of different shots to choose from.

Haircut...
This week has been the week of family haircuts. Jeff got one yesterday, Ethan had his today, and I have mine tomorrow. All of us had been letting our hair grow out of control so it was badly needed.
We take Ethan to a place called "The Brat Pack Salon" that specializes in children's haircuts. Ethan got to sit on a wooden sheep this time and had a bunch of toys to play with while he watched Elmo. He was a first not wanting anything to do with the haircut and immediatly stated that he was done and wanted down. To combat his attempt at leaping out of the chair my eye immediatly turned to the lollipops that they had for kids when they were leaving. I grabbed one and put it in his mouth and that all it took. She used the clippers and scissors and whisked away his hair and he could care less as long as he had the lollipop. I will definitely need to invest in these in the future and use them as bribes. :)

Happy Valentine's Day!
Ethan had his daycare Valentine's party on Friday and he got a lot of goodies and cards. He even got to decorate his own cookie there but I was not able to get a picture of it before he gobbled it down. A co-worker of mine, Julia, also made caramel apples this year so I purchased a few since they are so good. Pictures below.
I hope that everyone has a great Valentine's Day!

(Samoa caramel apple - made with roasted coconut, pretzels, and chocolate.)
Our neighbors also decided to replace their fence last week which means that we got a new fence on one side of our house as well. This is perfect since that side of the fence has been a pain with boards constantly falling down.

Vacations Galore...
I have been really busy the past couple of weeks at work so I have not had a chance to update my blog so my appologies.
The next few months are looking to be busier and busier for the Kalles family. We have enrolled Ethan in swimming lessons and he has been having a great time. Unfortunately last weekend they had to move us into the cool pool though and he was freezing after only 20 minutes. The next couple of weeks should be better but he loves to splash and kick.
Later this month my dad and I are headed to Bend, Oregon for a four day ski trip. It will be a trip away from Jeff and Ethan but I am sure we will have a fun time skiing if the snow is good. We are staying at the Sun River Resort and will be bringing our tennis rackets as well just in case the snow conditions are not that great but I am keeping my fingers crossed.
During the month of March Jeff is traveling for about two and a half weeks for work so I will be single mom during that time. I know that Jeff doesn't like to be away from home that long but I am sure that the time will fly by for him since he will be at his companies East Coast tradeshow.
Then in April, the Kalles family is heading to the Big Island of Hawaii to stay at the Disneyland of the tropics, the Hilton Waikoloa Village. I cannot wait for this vacation since we will have seven days of fun in the sun and it will be Ethan's first trip to Hawaii which I am sure he will love. He also gets to go to his first Luau so hopefully he will enjoy it.
That's about it for now. As usual, I will try to update more regularily going forward. :)
