imagination...

This last weekend Jeff had to put in some hours at work. We had been doing quite a bit of house stuff so I thought it was time for Ethan and I to just hang out and enjoy the weekend. Now that we are closer to Alderwood Mall, we headed down to browse and go to lunch at Claim Jumper.

Then it was off to the Imagine Museum in Everett. We had a great time exploring the museum and they had quite a bit of new exhibits since the last time we were there. Ethan loves driving the bus and especially loved using all of my spare change to charge me bus fare to Hawaii and Disneyland. He also got a kick out of having me sit in the barber's chair and giving me a shave even though he told me that ladies do not have beards so we were just pretending. The sun actually made a brief appearance so we were able to play on the rooftop playground. Since we live a lot closer I see us spending more time there.

Rainy Day Fun.

Ethan and I were planning on going to the zoo yesterday but when we woke up it was raining and windy. We had to change our plans so I decided that a trip to Target in the morning would suffice. While we were there I picked up a couple of items that we could do together instead of watching tv all day.

The first item I picked up was a Play-doh activity set. The set included a bunch of fun tools to make different shapes and ropes. I have to tell you, if you have a 2 year old this is the thing to get. We spent a good hour creating shapes and making faces. Ethan loved this activity and luckily no dough was eaten even though he tried a couple of times.

The second item was a sock puppet kit that came with all adhesive pieces so no glue was needed. We made two of them and Ethan had so much fun putting stickers on the sock puppets that they were covered by the end. I recommend this one to any parent as well since it is relatively little mess and kids have so much fun making them.

In the afternoon we went to Imagine Children's Museum in Everett, WA. This is a great place to take kids because they have so many activities for them to enjoy. Especially the tree top playhouse that has a ton of things to climb and slides. Ethan is getting really good about climbing up bars and ropes to get to the slides. It is a little scary to watch because he's still my little baby boy and I don't want him to get hurt but he proves me wrong every time climbing up the ladders like a champ. We ended up getting a membership to the museum so we can enjoy it for the next year.
